The Available Wines



2002 Grüner Veltliner Ried Hagelsberg

-An excellent, moderately-priced Grüner Veltliner, this wine has received good reviews over the years from the Falstaff Österreich Weinguide. The 2001 vintage received 88 points and 2002 received 86 points.


2002 Pinot Blanc Ried Hagelsberg

-Zesty Pinot Blanc with wonderful citrus flavors!


2002 Bienenfresser Ried Bärnreiser (Zweigelt)

-Aged 1 year in French barriques.

-The Bienenfresser is the flagship wine for the Pitnauer estate. Year-after-year, the Falstaff Österreich Weinguide has awarded this wine high ratings. The 1997 and 1999 vintages received 90 points and the 2001 was rated 89 points. The 2002 weighted in at 90 points.


2002 Pegasos (Syrah)

-Aged in American oak

-Hans Pitnauer was the first Austrian winemaker to work with Syrah.

-Excellent example of Austrian Syrah!

-Related to Pinot Noir, this grape produces wines that are velvety with robust smoky morello cherry notes and soft tannins.

-The grape is Pinot Noir on steroids!
