Rubinelli Vajol - Valpolicella, Italy

  • The Rubinelli estate was established in the early 20thcentury by Gaetano Rubinelli, who designed and built the Chievo Dam along the River Adige, thus supplying electricity to all the Verona Industries. With his new wealth, Gaetano purchase the beautiful estate Vajol.
  • Since its beginnings, the estate grew grapes for other wineries in Valpolicella.
  • In 2006, the estate began bottling its own wines. Today, the estate is run by the current generation of Rubinelli’s, the brothers Alberto and Renzo.

  • Valpolicella Classico Superiore

The selected grapes were crushed at the beginning of November, after a month’s drying on racks in the fruit cellar.  Fermentation and maceration for about 35 days at controlled temperatures. The wine was subsequently aged for 12 months in oak barrels.

This wine maintains a good structure, supported by the considerable alcohol content. Clear, deep ruby red  colour. On the nose, intense notes of red fruits. In the mouth, this wine is dry but well balanced, with pleasant hints of spice. This is certainly a Valpolicella with character, tannic and a bit rustic, with the distinctive
attributes of the area where it is produced.

    40% Corvina, 30% Carvinone, 20% Rondinella, 5% Oselata,  5% Molinara

  • Amarone

The selected grapes are stored for four months in a fruit cellar carved into the tufaceous stone until the natural drying process has been achieved.  Between January and February the grapes undergo maceration and fermentation at controlled temperatures. After racking, the wine is put to age in 50 hl oak barrels
    for about 18 months.

This is a well-structured wine, supported by the considerable alcohol content. Clear, deep ruby red with garnet hues. On the nose, intense notes of fully ripened
red fruits and pleasant hints of spice. In the mouth, the  wine is velvety smooth, rich and luscious, well-balanced in all its aromatic components.

    30% Corvina, 40% Carvinone, 15% Rondinella, 10% Oselata, 5% Molinara,
