Magellan Wine Imports, Inc.

Founded in 2003 by Erik Quam, Magellan's mission is to bring top-quality, small production wines from Germany, Austria and Italy to American wine drinkers. Based out of Denver, Colorado, Magellan Wine Imports represents some of the most critically acclaimed wineries from these wine regions, many of which are new to the American market.  We believe that wines from these regions are underrepresented in the US and represent one of the best price/quality opportunities in wine today. 

Our Philosophy

• Our philosophy is to import handcrafted wines from family-owned wineries where there is a tradition of quality over quantity and the wines express a unique sense of place. 
• Our wineries also practice vineyard management the “old-world” way, which means no chemical fertilizers are used and the wine is a true product of nature. Many of the wineries are moving towards being biodynamic.
• In American wine magazines, we have received many top honors from Wine Advocate, Stephen Tanzer, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Wine & Spirits, including many 90+ rated wines and “EDITOR’S CHOICE” and “BEST BUY” designations.
